I love growing my own vegetables! One vegetable that I seem to always have an abundance of is zucchini. Growing up my mother and grandmother have always made zucchini bread every summer, I was always happy to eat it.
I know I am not the only one that feels the same so I wanted to share my zucchini bread recipe with you.
First I gathered all the ingredients needed
I then enlisted some cute kitchen helpers
Here is the recipe we used:
Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread
6 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon of baking soda
2 teaspoon baking powder
4 teaspoons of cinnamon
2 cup white sugar
2 cup vegetable oil
2 cup packed brown sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
4-6 cups grated zucchini
1 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
In a large bowl combine, flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
Whisk until combined. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, add white sugar and oil. Mix until creamy.
Mix in brown sugar, eggs, & vanilla.
Add the dry mixture into the wet mixture and stir until combined.
Grate the zucchini and fold it into the batter and then add chocolate chips
Pour batter into a greased loaf pans.
Bake for 45-60 minutes in a 325 degree preheated oven
*** I make a mixture of white and brown sugar and sprinkle it on the top of the loaf after it has been baking for about 10 min to give it a little bit of a sugary crust.

About 7 months ago I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome). I had most of the symptoms that go along with it, but it wasn’t until I got bloodwork and an ultrasound done, that we knew for sure it was PCOS. I have never heard of before and was surprised to find out that almost
. Ever since I have been gathering information to see what it is all about.
Do you have any of these symptoms?:
Irregular periods. This is the most common symptom. Can include few or no menstrual periods or heavy, irregular bleeding. Mine have always been inconsistent but when it was MIA for over 6 months, I knew something was not right.
Excess androgen. Elevated levels of male hormones (androgens)
Polycystic ovaries. Polycystic ovaries become enlarged and contain numerous small fluid-filled sacs which surround the eggs.
Weight gain. About half of women with PCOS will have weight gain and obesity that is difficult to manage
Fatigue. Many women with PCOS report increased fatigue and low energy.
Unwanted hair growth (also known as hirsutism). Areas affected by excess hair growth may include the face, arms, back, chest, thumbs, toes, and abdomen
Thinning hair on the head. Hair loss related to PCOS may increase in middle age
Infertility. PCOS is a leading cause of female infertility caused by not releasing an egg (not ovulating) or repeat miscarriages.
Acne. Hormonal changes related to androgens can lead to acne problems. Other skin changes such as the development of skin tags and darkened patches of skin are also related to PCOS.
Mood changes. Having PCOS can increase the likelihood of mood swings, depression, and anxiety.
Pelvic pain. Pelvic pain may occur with periods, along with heavy bleeding. It may also occur when a woman isn’t bleeding.
Headaches. Hormonal changes prompt headaches.
Sleep problems. Women with PCOS often report problems such as insomnia or poor sleep, as well as breathing problems while sleeping
Insulin resistanceand too much insulin (hyperinsulinemia), which can cause things like upper body obesity and skin tags.
If you are curious to see if you could have PCOS take this quiz and talk to your doctor.
Of course we need to wash our faces. I like this product because it is a reasonable price and does not irritate my skin. I am frugal so I will buy it from Walmart or Shoppers Drug Mart, depending on which store has it on sale.
CLINIQUE Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ – $34.00
This is my all time favorite moisturizer! It is the only one that I can find that does not leave my skin feeling greasy. I usually get it from Sephora unless it is on sale at The Bay.
CLINIQUE Clarifying Lotion 2 – $18.00
My favorite from clinique. This one is not as harsh on my skin as some others that I have tried. Again I will get it from Sephora or The Bay.
Marcelle CC Concealer – $12.95
When it comes to concealers I will usually just buy whatever is on sale, however I have been really enjoying this brand lately. I purchased this from Shopper’s Drug Mart
Marcelle BB Cream – $22.95
This has been my go, especially in warmer weather. It feels light and doesn’t leave my face feeling smothered. In the colder months I will usually get the CC Cream from this brand. I usually purchase it from Shopper’s Drug Mart.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara – $30.00
I am in love with this mascara! I do not consider myself to be a huge make-up person but I cannot live without mascara! I recently tried their water proof version and felt it was to thick, so I just use as a small amount as a top coat. I go Sephora to restock.
eos™ Visibly Soft Vanilla Mint Lip Balm – $4.27
Plain and simple. Cost effective way to keep my lips soft, and it smells good too! I will buy these puppies anywhere they are on sale, usually Walmart.
Brow Extender Caryl Baker – $42.50
My newest obsession! This stuff is great. It doesn’t look fake or over the top. It is from Caryl Baker Visage.
Perfect Brow Finish Caryl Baker – $21.00
This is just to finish the Brow Extender (item before this), so that it last all day. Again it is from Caryl Baker Visage.
I am way to lazy to wash my face at night, so this is my way of getting around that. Simple, easy and it gives me no excuses to clean my face at night. I will buy them on sale from either Shopper’s or Walmart.
It may seem like a lot when you add it all up, but to me it is worth every penny. I am curious, all you ladies that wear lipstick, eyeliner, and other make-up, how much does your face cost?
I challenge you guys to take a look at your everyday face and add it up to see how much it cost.

My Summer Bucket-list:
Go For A Bike Ride
I bought a new bike about 2 years ago and unfortunately I have not used it as much as I would like. Not only is it good exercise but it is a great way to explore where you live. Plus if I actually use my bike, maybe my hubby will stop chirping me about it sitting and collecting dust.
