If you haven’t heard of paint nite before here is what it is.

“Guests spend two hours creating a one-of-a-kind painting and laughing with friends at a popular local bar.” – https://www.paintnite.com/about-us

After seeing friends and acquaintances post their masterpieces on social media I wanted to try it out and see what I could create.

Here is what took place:
Before the event

I browsed the paintnite website https://www.paintnite.com/ to find an event in my area.

  •  Make sure it is a painting that you like, what fun is it painting something you don’t really care about
  • Most event sell out fast so make sure you book well in advance, especially if you are going with three or more friends.
  • Check out Groupon! We found one and saved 30%
Day of the Event

Once we arrived to our event they had all the canvas and tools set up and ready to go. There was a very friendly instructor that signed us in and the waitress at the restaurant took our orders as everyone got settled in.

Once everyone was settled  the instructor began the lesson. She was great and went step by step, ensuring that everyone was good before moving on to the next step. She gave good direction and let you know how to mix colors as well as what brushes to use and how to use them.

The instructor came around to the tables to make sure we were doing ok and answered any questions that we had. She also came around and took pictures of us and our paintings which they post on their Facebook page and website.

Once everyone was done the instructor also took pictures of us with our finished products. We were allowed to stay longer and finish up if we were not completely done after the two hours. On our way out we were handed coupons for our next event.

My finished painting!

  • Arrive a little early so you can pick your seat before others and order your drinks and food.
  • if you are messy like me, make sure you are wearing clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
My Overall Thoughts:

I really enjoyed the paint nite. I was happy with the outcome of my painting and will proudly hang it in my home. It is great that you don’t have to worry about supplies, set up and clean up. Even if you have never painted before you will feel like an artist by the end. I really liked that everyone’s painting was different and it was a great way to catch up and hang with friends. Would I do it again? Yes I would, but only when I can get a Groupon for it.

Have you done a Paint Nite? How was your experience?
